‘I do’ was not a moment but a place we’ve built on truth ...
You probably remember Jenna & Alex from their exciting and romantic La Jolla Cove Engagement Session on the blog a few months back. Now, I’m really excited to share their BEAUTIFUL L’Auberge Del Mar wedding. This day was full of unique details that really show off Jenna & Alex’s story. They had custom engraved rings that say their wedding date, Alex had a custom suit liner, the programs had detailed illustrations of the bridal party, and they had a matted engagement session guest book… they really thought of everything!
Since Alex & Jenna are both alumni of San Diego State University, and with Alex being the head coach of the rugby team, he and his groomsmen customized the inner lining of their jackets with the SDSU logo. Evolution of Style does a great job creating this unique look – they’re based in LA and you can read about the Alumni Jacket on their website, here.
I love their proposal story. They went kayaking in the sea caves at La Jolla Cove, out to lunch in Mission Beach, rode the roller coaster, and then went to dinner at a local Italian Restaurant. Shortly after, Jenna & Alex ventured to a coffee shop called The Living Room, a cafe they frequent often for their favorite tea, New Zealand Sunny Slopes. They decided to stop at Windansea Beach to catch the last part of the sunset and watch the surf. While sitting on the sand, Alex had to tell her one more thing… and according to Jenna, before she could say anything, he was down on one knee! The ring is very significant because it has stones from his grandmother’s ring as well as an engraved map of the world (which also matched their cake design) – they love to travel and are ready for wherever life may take them in the coming years.
