Mitch and Megan met during their high school years and started dating during their sophomore year. The next chapter of life led them to attend college in opposing states. Because of this, they sadly went their separate ways. A few years later, they met for coffee while visiting their family on a semester break. Mitch asked Megan if she ever thought about them being together again in the future. That following summer, they wrote letters back and forth and he surprised Megan by joining her parents to pick her up when she served as a camp counselor. Megan proudly remembers, “that’s when I knew. We started dating for the second time soon after that, and the rest is history.”
Mitch is a pilot so he surprised Megan with an afternoon flight over the incredible lakes and mountains in Washington. They traveled to a gorgeous vineyard, where he led his unsuspecting girl to a cliffside lookout over Spokane. Mitch had her turn away to face the beautiful scenery to “take a panoramic picture”, and as her back was turned, he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. He said, “Megan, turn around….” she did and with eyes open wide and mouth dropped in shock! “Megan, will you marry me?” The answer was a joyful “YES!” and they spent the evening dining next to a waterfall.
These two are clearly a one of a kind couple. We had a blast strolling through the canals of Balboa Island in Newport Beach, CA. We started at Alta Coffee Co, rode bikes next to the Newport Pier, then snagged views of the island from the ferris wheel. The Balboa ferry floated us to Balboa Island for a sunset walk along the water. The whole shoot was fun, romantic and totally THEM! So grateful to have spent the afternoon with Mitch & Megan and cannot wait to photograph their wedding this year!
