I love photographing Monica & Nicholas’ Malibu Creek rustic romance during their Malibu engagement session. We started shooting at the iconic Malibu Country Mart, a luxury shopping village off of Pacific Coast Hwy. This was the perfect spot because of its amazing textures, colors, and backgrounds. Then we made our way to Malibu Creek State Park via Malibu Canyon Road passing through the pristine mountains that hover along the coast. With Nicholas originally from Texas, it was only fitting for flannel and cowboy boots to be incorporated into their outfit change. As the sun fell over the hills, they explored the incredible oak trees and meadows. During the shoot, a herd of deer started grazing next to these two and then a few horses came trotting by so we had to incorporate them into the shoot. I can’t wait to photograph these two at their wedding this year!
