These two met at
Point Loma Nazarene University and quickly realized that they had a lot in common. Rachel & Craig both participated in the
ROTC program at PLNU and began to form a very connected friend group. They loved exploring San Diego together and getting to know the sweet and quirky things about each other.
Rachel & Craig are both very adventurous, love the outdoors, and care deeply about family. Rachel grew up in SD and loves to hike, surf and spend time at the beach. As a full-time nurse, she has a huge heart for serving people in need. The hospitality she shows to each patient overflows into her personal life and it is evident in how she loves her groom. Craig is very similar to Rachel in that he is always looking after the needs of others. His calm presence and fun attitude make you feel safe. And with is love for the outdoors, these two make a perfect match!
Their ceremony was held at
The North Chapel in
Liberty Station. Greeted by their closest friends and family, the couple began to exit the chapel towards the sword arch where they were introduced again as 2nd Lt and Mrs. Hollensbe. They were quickly brought to a halt when they heard a series of requests prior to advancing: “The Navy requires a kiss to pass!”
After portraits at Liberty Station, we met up with the wedding guests at the breathtaking reception location,
The Ocean View at Ballast Point. This outdoor dining venue is nestled at the southwest base of the Point Loma Peninsula and overlooks
Coronado Island as well as the mouth of the
San Diego Harbor. The venue happens to be next door to the gym where Rachel and her maid of honor would come to work out during college. They would talk about Rachel’s growing relationship and love for Craig while dating. It couldn’t have been more ideal for their wedding!
Rachel & Craig enjoyed their first dance, toasts and then we headed over to the cove for portraits while the sun was setting over the hill. Rachel, stunning in her timeless wedding dress, pearl earrings, and necklace – Craig looked dapper in his US Marine Corps uniform. These two enjoyed a few quiet minutes together before the dancing started to heat up. Desserts by
Cupcakes Squared and music by
DJ David Cutler kept the party alive all night and I must admit, I haven’t seen a dance party like this in a while. It was SO impressive!
Cheers to a life full of adventures, sunny Coronado days and a long and beautiful marriage!
