Jenna & Alex’s engagement session was SO. MUCH. FUN. We started shooting at Belmont Park in Mission Beach where they love to go on dates and ride the Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster built in 1925. You can see 360-degree views of Point Loma, the downtown skyline, Mission Bay, La Jolla and the Pacific Ocean – it’s pretty incredible! After playing a few games in the arcade, we drove up the coast a few miles to La Jolla Cove. The trail along the cliff provided incredible views over the water and the sunset was on point! Even the sea lions seemed to enjoy it.
These two locations were absolutely perfect since Alex proposed in La Jolla on the Fourth of July (his favorite holiday). I love their proposal story! They went kayaking in the sea caves at La Jolla Cove, to lunch in Mission Beach, rode the roller coaster, and then went to dinner at a local Italian Restaurant. Shortly after, Jenna & Alex headed to a coffee shop called The Living Room, a cafe they frequent often for their favorite tea, New Zealand Sunny Slopes. They decided to stop at Windansea Beach to catch the last part of the sunset and watch the surf. While sitting on the sand, Alex had to tell her one more thing… and according to Jenna, before she could say anything, he was down on one knee! The ring is so unique because it has stones from his grandmother’s ring as well as an engraved map of the world – they love to travel and are ready for where ever life may take them in the coming years.
I am SO excited to photograph these two on their wedding day at L’Auberge Del Mar in a few short months!
