Kirby & Katie have been a really special couple to Meg and I for the last four years. We’ve had the privilege to walk along side them in their personal journeys with family, faith, and dating life and now are so thrilled to celebrate this exciting season as they come together in marriage!

       These two met just before going off to college at Point Loma. They both jumped head first into all that PLNU and San Diego had to offer with internships, extracurriculars and doing research with professors. They became Resident Assistants and Megan had the chance to learn more about their stories and how beautifully God was orchestrating their relationship together. Kirby & I have had the chance to hang out as well so I was incredibly honored to be asked to be a groomsman in his wedding this summer as well.

       Kirby & Katie also LOVE to travel! They’ve been all over the world but recently studied abroad in the bright Mediterranean town of Alicante, Spain and the green hills of Perugia, Italy. If you’ve seen the 90’s classic movie, The Wedding Singer, you’ll know exactly what inspired Kirby’s proposal to Katie. If you haven’t, head over to this clip on YouTube to take a look. On a Southwest flight, Kirby organized an incredible plan to ask Katie’s hand in marriage. He contacted the airline ahead of time, made sure he could sing on the speakers during the flight and in front of everyone on the plane, got down on one knee with roses in hand. She of course said ‘yes’! Family & friends were gathered to celebrate with sparklers blazing and a projector playing the proposal so we could relive the whole day with them.

       As you can tell, Katie & Kirby are very special people and we could go on about how much we love them and support this next chapter in their lives. Enjoy this seaside sunset cliffs engagement session where these two have spent many hours enjoying the ocean views between classes.
