GARRETT RICHARDSON

HELLO

IT'S WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU ...

There’s nothing I’d rather do than be a wedding photographer in California and the Southeast - serving luxury weddings across the world, from Napa to Nashville.

My passion is holding space for couples to have a wedding day that’s a beautiful start to a thriving, lifelong marriage. (Having said “I do” to a marriage counselor myself, my wife & I truly care about making marriage beautiful and encouraging lifelong joyous commitments!)

For me, photography is about connection. Cultivating and capturing the connection of my couples - with one another, their loved ones and the beautiful surroundings.

My style is best described in three ways:

TIMELESS. CANDID. NATURAL.

MISSION:

To inspire joy and hope
so that marriages can thrive.

SUSTAIN RETREATS

Why my wife & I host destination marriage retreats

My Sweet Meg and I met while studying abroad in Greece, got married in 2012, and have been going on weekly date nights (and sipping a lot of Syrah) since. With my love of seeing couples thrive and Megan being a relationship and marriage counselor, we knew our passions would one day collide.

The life-changing collision? SUSTAIN - the marriage retreats we now host to help couples get out of the day to day of to-do lists and dishes - and back into the joyful laughter that first had them giddy for one another.

Whether I’m capturing wedding photos or joyfully hosting a retreat with my beautiful wife, my heart for my couples is that they would remain present with one another.

MY VALUES

I BELIEVE ...

Marriage is powerful

... it's a holy adventure and should be celebrated daily.

Life is about being present

... and savoring moments that shape us.

Everything I do should be done

... with excellence and beauty.

In calling out the gold in people

... and preserving it so they can look back on where they came from and know where they're going.

In creating reasons to celebrate

... as much as possible.

If marriages thrive
families are whole,

... and our communities are changed for the better.

Strength and healing

are the results of meaningful connection.

Each journey is beautiful

... the raw and real times matter and they are not meant to be curated.

The world is full of beauty

... We are made to live expectantly and that discovery is what inspires true gratitude.

MORE

MY FAVORITE THINGS

BEYOND THE CAMERA, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE FILLING LIFE WITH ...

01. CLASSY COMFORT

I'm all about my Rainbow sandals and On Clouds but nothing beats genuine leather shoes and tailored suits.

02. YOGA ON THE REGULAR

I'm way more myself and a better human when I prioritize time to work out.

03. TRAVEL

Meg and I have compiled quite the list of things to do, see, and taste around the world. But if we're honest, we could travel through France, Italy, and Greece for the rest of our lives and be just fine.

04. Smoky spirits & a glass of red

My drink of choice regardless of the season usually involves a smoky mezcal or whiskey. Or give me a good Syrah, Zin, Tempranillo or Pinot Noir and I'm a happy camper.

05. WEEKLY DATE NIGHTS

This is a rhythm we can't live without in our marriage. Whether it's a fancy dinner out or a long and leisurely walk, we crave quality time together and prioritize it.

06. AMAZING FOOD

Since 2012, probably longer, but since being married, we are big fans of farm-to-table restaurants that are fresh, local, and have a unique story tied to them.

07. Fun fact: I shot images for The Bachelor

(the show, that is) Click to see the images!

I met my wife on a study abroad trip to Greece with our college. I fell in love with Megan when I quickly realized, “She is the sweetest and strongest person I know and without a doubt, my best friend." If you see her referred to as Sweet Meg from time to time, now you know why.

I proposed to Meg overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Then we escaped to a private Greek themed dinner under our favorite tree in San Diego followed by a surprise party with our closest friends and family.

We got married on October 13, 2012, in Irvine, CA. It was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible days of our lives.

We went to the beautiful country of Thailand! Since then, we've traveled extensively throughout Europe and have been to France five times in our first 6 years of marriage.

We are enjoying life with our son Ryder and two fluffy Maine coon cats.
